Well, I guess I should start with Friday night. We knew we needed to make a great sign for the guys to show our support. So it was off to Wal-Mart for poster board and supplies to make the perfect sign. And wouldn’t you know the minute we decide to head out it is snowing crazy, but it was for the guys, so off we go. Once we got home I tried putting my ideas together. I decided on the perfect sign. I knew with the Run being to benefit Tug’s Foundation that I had to include 45 and YGB and to make sure I included our Carm, I decided on my colors and started my sign. I started by making a huge four leaf clover with my green glitter paint, let that dry while I put a purple star (for our Carm) in the corner with my purple glitter paint. Next I used the purple paint to paint a big 45 in the clover and YGB. By this time I was totally exhausted and we headed for bed. Saturday morning time to finish the sign. I used the blue paint to put Denny, Jeff, Deano and Billy on my sign & added McGraw Zoners with my yellow paint. Then off to the shower while the paint dries… after my shower it was time to add my finishing touches. I used my markers to outline my designs.
TA DA!
My Masterpiece!
Now we are off to the run, which started at 11:00 am, and we are standing out in the freezing cold (16 lovely degrees) looking and looking and looking for our guys with no luck. Finally it is time for the race to start and who do we see at the end of the crowd of people but our wonderful guys only problem is, we are on the wrong side of the road so they did not see us. We took off running to find the middle of the course so we can wait on them there, (and mind you it is still no warmer I can only imagine how they were feeling), when finally we see them round the corner...........
and we start yelling...and they see us and give us high fives...what a great picture this turned out to be!
then once again we take off to find the finish line and wait for the guys there. YEE-HAW McGRAW.. is that a doctor I see heading to the finish line!?!
WOW! It is four Doctors...and they must have planned this...as they came through the finish line the guys joined hands in the air. (What an awesome show of support for one another!)
To bad the flash refused to cooperate at this moment so these pics are a little dark but we know who they are!
As they came in we spoke to them and shook hands congratulating them on the run and Jeff invited us to Mo’s Irish Pub. Jeff said we should definitely get some shots with my sign, so we decided to grab a bite of lunch, (LOL I bet you thought I was gonna tell you what we had for lunch), and then watch the parade from the Pub. It was too cold outside. Once inside the Pub we visited Tug’s Foundation Table and WOW for me, they all loved my sign and wanted to know where I got it! I made it! They asked if they could use it to hang above their table.
They were selling the green YGB bracelets, and raffle tickets for the green McGraw Jerseys the guys were running in, concert tickets for Summerfest, and an autographed Friday Night Lights Poster, so we had to get a few of those. Then we headed upstairs. Now mind you we have hours to kill before the guys get here, so we just hang out and have a few drinks (oh and I just gotta tell ya - we
had the greatest piece of cheesecake - Bailey’s Irish Cream. WOW! Was it good!), and the time is just dragging. Finally about 4:00 I headed downstairs and who do I run into but Deano.. and wow lookie there its Jeff and his girlfriend and Denny and Billy. Deano said they were getting ready to head upstairs shortly, so I got my sign from the window and headed back upstairs. Then the guys came upstairs and we had our pictures made. What a good looking group of people!
The guys autographed my sign and thanked us for coming out and showing our support. It was time to head back downstairs, because in half an hour they were drawing for the raffles. No we did not win but that was okay, it was for a great cause. Now don’t look Maria....No Maria I warned you! Close your eyes! No please Maria...pretty please with a Cherry on top...please close your eyes...don’t go any further… Maria no… STOP!
Then we are home.. and here is my autographed sign…please ignore the girl holding the sign.. I think she was tired! (LOL!)
All in all it was a wonderful day full of many happy memories. I just love my favorite band. And Deano....if you found your way here....Don't forget to tell Tim about putting up some Milwaukee Tickets for Charity Auction. For a good cause, and we NEED those tickets....Thanks Buddy!
